We have thirty Cubs, Scouts and Explorers going on the Waddecar Camp, along with seven Leaders. Over the past few weeks we have been busy finalising the programme and booking activities. Some of the off site activities we have booked include two hours of skiing at Rossendale Outdoor Ski Centre (don’t worry if you can’t ski, instructors are provided). Two hours at climbing at the Preston Climbing Centre and two hours of Laser Tag with Pennine Battlefield Live.
Transport from the ferry to Waddecar and to all the offsite activities has been booked with a local coach company. We will be taking one vehicle with us, which will mostly be used for food shopping, but it’s always handy to have a vehicle on site.
We have extended our visit to Blackpool Pleasure Beach into the evening, which means we will have about nine hours in the park. Everyone will be provided with a Full Park Wristband, which will allow them to go on all park rides as many times as they wish.
During the camp everyone will be divided into different Patrols and each day we will have a different Duty Patrol to help the Leaders where necessary, such as preparing meals and tidying as required. Being in the days Duty Patrol, won’t mean any activities are missed.
Full payment of the camp is due by the end of May 2013, quite a few payments towards the camp have already been made, some in full. Please ensure that the Payment Card is sent in with any payment, so that a correct record can be made.
Final information including Medical / Activity Permission Forms, Kit Lists, etc., will be posted out to everyone mid June.
