Due to the heavy rain that is meant to be staying with us for most if not all of today, we have taken the decision to make a few changes to the start of Summer Camp.

Everyone is now to meet at the Scout Hall in Onchan, for 19:00. All kit should be brought along too. If conditions improve we will head off to the camp site in Peel and put up our tents. If they do not improve, then we will stay in the Scout Hall overnight. On the Sunday we will carry out our normal activities (a day at the Venture Centre) and will head to camp late afternoon and erect the tents then.

We do feel that spending a good hour or so putting up tents this afternoon, will result in everyone getting soaked and most likely the inside of the tents will get wet during the time it will take for them to be put up, this will not be a good start to the camp.

Staying overnight at the Scout Hall if it comes to it, will we think be the best solution. If anyone has any questions please get in touch. My contact details are on the bottom of the Final Information Letter that went out at the beginning of July.
