Snaefell Cubs were at Ardwhallan over the weekend 18th – 20th November 2016, we all met on Friday Night after a quick briefing, we headed out on our first activity a night hike. We headed towards St Luke’s Church then followed the millennium way for a couple of miles before taking the road back to Ardwhallan. Once we had arrived back we headed to the longhouse for a campfire and toasted marshmallows and had supper in the long house. It was getting late so once we got back to the house everyone made their way to bed. It did take a while for the Cubs to get to sleep, however they did eventually.
The next morning the Cubs were woken by Leaders, after breakfast we went for a walk to the reservoir and did a treasure hunt around the grounds at Ardwhallan. The activities for the morning were backwoods cooking (skinning rabbits) and on the low ropes course. All the Cubs took part in the activities – proper scouting. After lunch we did more backwoods cooking and Archery, well done to Lee who was the best archer and did get a very impressive score. The final activity was timed laps on the assault course, the assault course has been done up recently and all the Cubs thought the new design and layout of the assault course was epic. Saturday evening we spent inside the nice and warm building, we did a few trails (I’m a celebrity get me out of here), watched a film and chilled in front of the TV. All the Cubs had a good nights sleep and were in bed fairly early.
Sunday morning, the Cubs were woken up to the smell of the Leaders cooking bacon, Sunday activities were games at Nobles Park & swimming at the NSC. All Cubs had a great time and we were thankful that the weather remained nice for us.
